On this podcast…

I sat with Andy Coulston on his podcast ‘Crisis What Crisis’ to discuss the rules of the mind and how it works during times of crisis. We discuss how to process significant life events that might have left us emotionally scarred.
When we experience situations that have a more serious impact on us, the Chimp needs more help to process them. We discussed some of the emotional stages that we commonly go through during this processing and how to recognise and manage them. There is more information on managing significant life events in Unit 13 of ‘A Path through the Jungle’.
During the podcast, we also looked at other areas of psychological wellbeing such as how we can manage stress and start to develop resilience.

About ‘Crisis what Crisis?’

Crisis What Crisis? launched in June 2020, in the midst of the global pandemic. As the situation continues to unravel, so too does the uncertainty of our ever-changing world. Crisis is still very much the shared experience.

It’s been an incredibly difficult time with bereavement, illness and wide-spread mental health challenges affecting so many. Economically so many have all been impacted in some way –  housing worries, job losses and for some the basics of putting food on the table. There’s also the fight for equality rightly taking its place in all areas of business and culture, and the climate crisis may have had a slight reprieve from the headlines since the beginning of the year, but it’s by no means gone away.  And then there’s just life in general … and all the unexpected drama it can bring.

So, surrounded by all this uncertainty Crisis What Crisis? will hopefully provide a few landing lights…some practical guidance for anyone who is facing a serious problem in their lives, whatever its nature, to help find their way through.
